We limit the number of students in our class so that (in theory) each student has the opportunity to present their work every week. The make up and chemistry of these classes is also something we try to be very attentive to; creating small ensembles with each class giving consideration to personality, commensurate ability and male / female ratios when we can. Because we limit the size of the classes, when students drop out at the last minute or attend class for a few weeks and then drop out without paying, the financial loss can be dramatic. Our teachers put a lot of time and energy in putting these classes together and in the past couple of years have lost thousands of dollars in potential income because of last minute cancellations. We certainly understand that because of the nature of our business well intended plans can change for both the teacher and the student. Work comes up, one’s finances can change, personal situations arise. But in order to be fair to both the students and the teachers, we have instituted some new policies with regard to tuition.

We do not offer audits of classes.  Our priority is to ensure that each class provides a safe environment for our students, a place for them to grow, take risks, and practice together.  Each class is an ensemble and deserves their work space to support each other’s craft without distraction.  However, we are happy to provide information about class structure, our teachers, and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries.

We will be organizing classes 2 – 4 weeks prior to the first day of class. We will be contacting you if there is a spot available for you. Upon receipt of your deposit, your spot will be reserved. Your tuition balance will be due on the first day of class. Please note there may be variations in this deposit policy from teacher to teacher. Payment Plans may be allowed but are up to your individual teacher’s discretion on an as need basis.

All deposits and class payments are non-refundable.

ONCE CLASS BEGINS: Once classes begin, there will be no refund of any portion of your tuition. If you need to leave class for whatever reason before the session has completed, full payment is still owed - we do not prorate tuition for any reason.

Workshops are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Generally, an audition is not required and participation is open to all. Your spot is reserved upon receipt of full tuition.

There are no refunds for workshops.

In most cases we assume we will be able to honor alumni class choices. We need first, of course, to see what the volume of response is and in some instances, we may ask alums to meet with or audition with a teacher they have not yet worked with, or have not worked with in a number of years. This isn’t to torture anyone, it is just trying to make your class have the best commensurate ability and ‘chemistry’ possible.
